January 1 2006

Welcome back , who knows how long this will last, my last attempt was at the start of my holiday on the Gold Coast last year. it only lasted 2 posts. I'll try to make a post at least a few times a week

I am Tony Rule, i co-own an internet startup, Spikefin Limited. I don't think we can really class ourselves as a startup anymore. We've been in business for almost 4 years!

Well, i've had the last week off work and really relaxed. No work emails! I've clocked up over 100 km's on the water with some epic conditions windsurfing at Eastbourne, and timed at 30.9 knots, not too bad considering that is open harbour sailing. Can't wait for a day on a flat speed course, up the coast maybe looking ok tomorrow.

So all recharged for the new year, i think 2006 will be amazing. The hard yards of 2002-2005 are starting to pay off ! Spikefin is a business that is going places, our software now powers the busiest online consumer food and beverage /restaurant and catering website in New Zealand - www.hell.co.nz , and this is linked directly to all 51 Hell stores in New Zealand that use our Point-of-Sale software, Gobius.

We also power The Earl, www.thearl.com, a sandwich startup in Shibuya, Tokyo. The Earl, kicked off in May 2005 and is launching a store front in January 2006 on the back of a solid start to the business in an online form only.

Gobius v3 has been released in the last few months, firstly at Eat Gourmet Takeout - www.eat.co.nz and we roll out our software in a dine-in restaurant this month.
